Rest as Sacred Defiance

The body knows before the mind admits it: you’re tired of worshiping the grind because it’s not natural! The pulse quickens, the breath shallows, and the bones ache for quiet. Rest is not a pause from life, it is the reclamation of your original rhythm, the return to your elemental self and the cycle of creation and growth

In nature, nothing blooms all year. The earth folds inward. Roots deepen. The soil darkens before anything rises again. You, too, are allowed this, the sacred pause, the slow turn of regeneration beneath the surface.

As we enter the Darkening Moon, let’s remember, new, and full moons are great! Wonderful to focus on for certain things, however, the Dark Moon is still somewhat of a mystery to most I find. The forgotten phase that can leave us in loops if we don't remember the potent potential, subtly enthralled within it.

Descending into the depths is necessary for rebirth. This ancient teaching seems to have been lost in an unbalanced masculine driven, productivity, light centered world. For those of us with values of growth and living an unbound, sovereign lifestyle, where others perceptions of us do not equal worth nor does our productivity, this is where the compost is made.

A little about the Darkening Moon Phase:

The Darkening Moon starts when there is more shadow on the moon than not. The descent begins on the last quarter when this celestial body starts moving closer towards the Sun, seen in the sky in the mornings. An important psyche event where the subconscious can ignite and light up things unclear, truly a consciousness expanding time.

This portion of the lunar cycle prepares us for the next, shedding of the old skin begins, starting the integration and concentrating the wisdom of the current cycle. We don't have to carry the baggage into the new.

Balsamic phase- this phase comes in fluidly when the moon starts to rise right before the Sun, pre-dawn during the glow of the twilight hour. Gifts of the subtle, prayer bundles straight from the Divine. Offering sustained growth that bridges one cycle, to the next. A time of turning inward. Turning off lights early, letting the silence start to seep in. Stillness embraced leads to the liminal gate...the 1st step onto the bridge of the inbetween, a limbo-like feeling, going into the void....

The Dark Moon- this is truly a bridge between worlds. The veil becomes thin as softly woven silk and transition begins. 3 nights of pitch black. No moon in the sky as it's sitting too close to the sun. A time of wonder-filled thoughts from the Soul. There is a pattern I have seen with my clients, that visitations from the spirit world are more prevalent during this time. Epiphanies, clarity and spiritual interventions are also more common during this 3 day window. Fascinating right!

Stillness is a sacred refusal to keep feeding the illusion that your worth is measured in output. In the hush, the system loses its hold. The noise fades, and what remains is raw presence, the pulse of your blood, the breath in your lungs, the bones remembering their own cadence.

Lay down the armor. Let the hum quiet. Step into the Current that honors both soul-fire and rest. Let your breath, your bones, your body guide you back to your own frequency.

Rest is alchemy. It is where exhaustion composts into insight, where nervous systems reorient, where the soul whispers the truths the mind has long ignored. It is rebellion. It is a remembrance.

Your rest is not indulgence. It is remembering that presence, not performance, is your true work. Every pause is a reclamation of life. Every inhale, a reclaiming of sovereignty.
